*All visitors need an Entry Visa to be obtained, before the arrival, at Eritrean embassies in the country of residence. Only for those country where is not available Eritrean Embassy, an entry visa can be obtained at arrival, but with due process with Immigration Department in Asmara.

* Travel Permits are not necessary for all travel inside of the Asmara region, defined as roughly 25km from the city.

Day 01: Arrival to Asmara. Transfer to hotel
Day 01: Arrival to Asmara. Transfer to hotel

Upon your arrival at Asmara International Airport, you will be transferred to your hotel. Relax at your accommodation before having a pre-dinner meeting with your tour guide in order to discuss the tour program.

In the afternoon we start to discover Asmara. A guided tour will take you to some of the most interesting places in Asmara that UNESCO's World Heritage Site offers.

Day 02: Asmara city tour
Day 02: Asmara city tour

After breakfast, our tour starts in Asmara and places around Asmara. Asmara inscribed on the UNESCO Heritage List and the town called "Piccola Roma" (Little Rome) and architectural wonders described in many of its buildings such as the Roman Catholic Cathedral, St. Mary's Orthodox Church, Al Khulafa al Rashedin, Market (vegetable, spices), Medeber (recycling depot), National Museum, Fiat Tagliero Building, Tank Cemetery, etc.

Day 03: Asmara - Keren
Day 03: Asmara - Keren

After breakfast, travel via the major Asmara - Keren highway through the town of Serejeqa to the city of Keren.

Keren is the second-largest city in Eritrea. It is situated around 91 kilometers northwest of Asmara at an elevation of 1,390 meters above sea level. It has a moderate climate. The fine tarmac road, built by the Italians is like a hairpin curved out from mountainous plateaus.

Day 04: Keren - Massawa
Day 04: Keren - Massawa

The day starts by visiting the colorful Keren market is every Monday. The bustling market that comprises camel, livestock. Keren is well known for the fiercest battles that went on between the Commonwealth and the Italian forces in 1941. The fall of Keren in the hands of the Common Wealth advancing army signaled the end of Italian occupation in Eritrea. Visitors will also visit the Italian and Common Wealth war cemeteries, the famous Mariam Dearit temple curved out from a Baobab tree.
In the afternoon we leave Keren and heading to the Red Sea coast and the port city of Massawa - the pearl of the Red sea.

Day 5: Massawa – Dissie & Madote Islands

Exciting boat trip from Massawa to beautiful and pristine Dissie and Madote Islands.

Dissie and Madote Islands are part of the Dahlak Archipelago, among the pleasant and most visited and, lying 22 miles and 17 miles South off the coast of Massawa respectively, have beautiful beaches, corals, birdlife, there is a possibility of seeing groupers, snappers, lionfish, sea turtles, Dolphins, etc. They are good for snorkeling, diving, and camping,

Day 06: Plying between the Islands

The second day at Dahlak Islands and We continue with diving and fishing while plying between these two islands at a distance of few kilometers is quite entertaining. In the afternoon back to Massawa.

Day 07: Massawa city tour

Massawa enjoys a combination of Turkish and Italian Architects, an apparent indication of the Ottoman and Italian colonial history. There is, among others, an old Turkish Palace and the Modern Port built by the Titians at the turn of the 20th Century. A more than one thousand years mosque is still standing to this day. A great attraction to many visitors

Day 8: Massawa - Ghindae - Asmara

After breakfast We’ll drive back to Asmara, noting on the roadside the sites of two fierce battles: one between the retreating Italians and the advancing British and Commonwealth troops in 1943. The other battle was more recent, as the Eritrean army successfully drove the Ethiopian army out of Eritrea.

Day 9: Asmara- Mendefera – Adi Quala - Asmara

Early morning hours we will drive to the town of Mendefera. The town is dominated by two hills on either side of the main road. Among the things to see in Mendefera include the market, the ancient Mosque, and the old Saint George Church (San Giorgio Church).

Travel further to Adi Quala, a pleasant market town 32 km from Mendefera. It is covered with vegetation and a slew of agricultural plains, small stores, and cafes.

Day 10: Asmara - Kohaito - Senafe – Metera – Asmara

Today we will drive Southeast to see the ancient ruins at Qohaito: these standing stones, evidence of walls, and a rock-cut tomb date from about 2500 years ago. From Qohaito, we will drive on to Senafe and visit the Mount Metera and Belowkelwo archaeological sites, which are regarded as pre-Axumite. Drive back to Asmara

Day 11: Free day in Asmara.

Free to discover Asmara in your leisure time. Transfer to the airport for Departure.
