In this 5 Days Tour Asmara, Keren and Massawa. we will visit many sites. Asmara was the center of Italy’s East African Empire. Following Italy’s invasion of Ethiopia in 1935, Asmara became a boom town and transformed into one of the most modern cities in Africa. Today, it appears like a city lost in time and possessing the highest concentration and most complete collection of Modernist architecture in the world.

Places with we are going to visit under this 5 Days Trip Asmara, Keren & Massawa are:- Fiat Tagliero Building, Tank Graveyard, Opera House ( is one of Asmara’s most elegant early–20th-century buildings), Monday Camel Market in Keren (a market for livestock), Imperial Palace ( it was used as a winter palace by Emperor Haile Selassie during the federation with Ethiopia), and more other places.
Arrive early in the morning in Asmara and our driver will be waiting at the airport to transfer you to your hotel. In the afternoon we take a tour of Asmara. A guided tour will take you to some of the most interesting places in Asmara.
OVERNIGHT IN ASMARA, Crystal Hotel Or Similar
After breakfast, our tour starts in Asmara and places around Asmara. Asmara inscribed on the UNESCO Heritage List and the town called “Piccola Roma” (Little Rome) and architectural wonders described in many of its buildings such as the Roman Catholic Cathedral, St. Mary’s Orthodox Church, Al Khulafa al Rashedin, Market (vegetable, spices), Medeber (recycling depot), National Museum, Fiat Tagliero Building, Tank Cemetery, etc.
OVERNIGHT IN ASMARA, Crystal Hotel Or Similar
An interesting drive to the Red Sea port of Massawa, dropping from 2500m down to sea level to stay in the Dahlak hotel. We can expect it to be both hot and humid. Night time temperatures fall to 25 Grad Celsius.
The road initially built by the Italians as a weather road has been turned into a fine tarmac by the Government of Eritrea Visitors may feel as if they are driving above the clouds as they could apparently watch the clouds down the hill.
Continuing the journey visitors will witness the desert plains before reaching the port city of Massawa.
OVERNIGHT IN MASSAWA, Grand Dahlak Hotel Or Similar
Massawa enjoys a combination of Turkish and Italian Architects, an apparent indication of the Ottoman and Italian colonial history.
There is, among others, an old Turkish Palace and the Modern Port built by the Titians at the turn of the 20th Century. A more than one thousand years mosque is still standing to this day. A great attraction to many visitors
Overnight in Massawa, Grand Dahlak Hotel, or similar.
Start early in the morning, boat trip to Green Island, the most accessible island from Massawa consisting of the beach and mangrove swamp.
In the afternoon drive uphill while enjoying the magnificent scenery and lush vegetation all the way to Asmara, as time allows with stops on the way at interesting sites.
Late in the evening transfer to airport for departure.

Our Cancellations for the confirmed bookings by client(s) due to personal circumstances after signing the Tour Agreement up to 30 days prior to departure are subject to a cancellation fee of 10% of the total Tour Price.
Cancellations received less than 30 days up to 15 days before commencement of the Tour 15% of the total Tour Price has to be paid. By cancellations received 10 days up to 5 days before commencement of the Tour 50% of the total

*All visitors need an Entry Visa. To get it before your arrival visit Eritrean Embassies in your home country. Only for those countries where there are no Eritrean Embassies can an entry visa be obtained on arrival at the airport in Asmara.
* Travel Permits is required for all foreign nationals who wish to leave the Asmara region. Travel permits are sought on the spot in Eritrea. The issuing of such a travel permit is handled by Adulis Travel. To obtain a travel permit, you will need to present a photocopy of your passport details and visa pages.
