In this 3 Days Tour we are going to discover the top attraction and things to do in Asmara, Massawa and Keren.
Asmara is the capital and most populous city of Eritrea. It was the center of Italy’s East African Empire. Following Italy’s invasion of Ethiopia in 1935, Asmara became a boom town and transformed into one of the most modern cities in Africa. Today, it appears like a city lost in time and possessing the highest concentration and most complete collection of Modernist architecture in the world.
2 Hours Before Flight Time
Every Friday from Asmara
Places with we are going to visit under these 3 Days Tour Asmara, Massawa & Keren are:- Fiat Tagliero former petrol station was constructed in the late 1930s, Tank Graveyard, Opera House (is one of Asmara’s most elegant early–20th-century buildings), Monday Camel Market in Keren (a market for livestock), Imperial Palace (it was used as a winter palace by Emperor Haile Selassie during the federation with Ethiopia), and more other places.
Arrive in the morning hours in Asmara and our English-speaking tour guide will be waiting for you at the airport and transfer you to our office to discuss the itinerary. We will visit some top attraction places before the trip to Massawa begins in the afternoon
The trip to Massawa starts in the afternoon with a drive on the Massawa – Nefasit-Route from Asmara towards the east. You drive from 2400 meters above sea level to Massawa at sea level in about 3 hours. Visitors will experience three different climate zones along the way – cool, temperate, and hot. A short coffee break will be essential in Ghinday. Before we move on to Massawa.
OVERNIGHT IN MASSAWA, Grand Dahlak Hotel Or Similar
After breakfast, we’ll visit the most interesting and unusual places in Massawa. Massawa enjoys a combination of Turkish and Italian Architects, an apparent indication of the Ottoman and Italian colonial history. There is, among others, an old Turkish Palace and the Modern Port built by the Titians at the turn of the 20th Century. A great attraction to many visitors. In the afternoon the journey to Keren begins.
OVERNIGHT IN KEREN, Sarina Hotel Or Similar
After breakfast, we’ll visit the splendid camel market, a large affair, where local tribesmen come to sell their animals. Whilst we are in Keren we will see the WWII graves of the British and Commonwealth troops who at great cost defeated the Italians here. The Italian cemetery is worth pausing at: there we’ll find the graves of men who died making and defending the Italian colony. In the afternoon we will leave Keren in the early evening and set off for Asmara.
Late in the evening transfer to airport for departure.

Amazing Architecture. This building is as close as you’ll find to a national landmark in Eritrea. Though the Cathedrals and churches are interesting, nothing stands out as much as the Tagliero Building. Also take a walk to the former FIAT garage/factory, located 200m from this building.
