1. Introduction
Welcome to Adulis Travel.
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") explain the agreement between you ("the Customer", "traveler", or "you") and Adulis Travel ("we", "us", or "our") regarding the booking and provision of travel services, tours, excursions, and related travel arrangements.
Adulis Travel is an Eritrea-based tour operator specializing in authentic travel experiences in Eritrea and the Horn of Africa, including Eritrea, Djibouti, Somaliland, and other East African destinations.
By requesting information, making a reservation, submitting payment, or participating in a tour organized by Adulis Travel, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted these Terms and Conditions.
2. Booking Agreement
A booking request submitted to Adulis Travel is considered a request to purchase travel services.
A booking becomes confirmed only after:
- Availability has been confirmed by Adulis Travel
- Required documents have been provided
- The required deposit or payment has been received
- Written confirmation has been issued by Adulis Travel
Once your booking is confirmed, a binding agreement exists between you and Adulis Travel based on these Terms and Conditions.
3. Customer Eligibility
Customers must be at least 18 years old to make a booking.
Travelers under the age of 18 may participate only with the approval and responsibility of a parent or legal guardian.
The person making the booking confirms that they have authority to provide information and accept these Terms on behalf of all travelers included in the booking.
4. Customer Responsibilities
Before booking, customers are responsible for carefully reviewing:
- Tour itinerary
- Tour duration
- Included and excluded services
- Accommodation details
- Payment conditions
- Visa requirements
- Cancellation policy
- Travel requirements
Customers are responsible for providing accurate and complete information, including:
- Full name as shown on passport
- Passport details
- Nationality
- Contact information
- Travel dates
- Special requirements
Any additional costs, delays, or problems caused by incorrect or incomplete information provided by the customer are the customer's responsibility.
5. Reservation Process and Confirmation
After submitting a booking request, customers will receive a reservation acknowledgement by email.
This acknowledgement does not represent final confirmation.
After reviewing availability and receiving required payments, Adulis Travel will send a booking confirmation containing:
- Confirmed itinerary
- Tour details
- Meeting arrangements
- Accommodation information
- Contact details
- Payment status
Travel documents and final information will be provided before departure.
6. Payment Terms
Unless otherwise agreed in writing:
- Tour prices are quoted in United States Dollars (USD).
- A deposit may be required to confirm a booking.
- The remaining balance must be paid according to the payment schedule provided by Adulis Travel.
Accepted payment methods may include:
- Bank transfer
- Approved online payment methods
- Cash payment upon arrival (where agreed)
Failure to complete payment according to the agreed schedule may result in cancellation of the booking.
7. Tour Prices
All prices are based on the information available at the time of quotation.
Prices may change due to:
- Availability of accommodation
- Transportation costs
- Government fees
- Exchange rate changes
- Seasonal price changes
- Changes requested by the customer
The final confirmed price will be stated in your booking confirmation.
8. Services Included and Excluded
Each tour description specifies what is included and excluded.
Unless otherwise stated, tour prices may include:
- Accommodation
- Transportation during the tour
- Professional guide services
- Planned activities
- Permits arranged by Adulis Travel
Items usually not included:
- International flights
- Travel insurance
- Personal expenses
- Meals not specified
- Visa fees
- Visa service fees
- Optional activities
- Tips and gratuities
9. Visa Assistance and Travel Permits
Adulis Travel provides assistance with visa applications and travel permits where available.
However:
- Visa approval is issued solely by the relevant immigration authorities.
- Travel permits are issued by Eritrean government authorities.
- Adulis Travel cannot guarantee approval or processing times.
Customers must provide accurate and complete information required for visa and permit applications.
Incorrect, incomplete, or misleading information provided by the customer may result in delays, refusal, or cancellation.
Visa fees, government charges, and related expenses are the responsibility of the traveler unless otherwise stated.
10. Passport and Travel Documents
Customers must ensure that they have:
- A valid passport
- Required visas
- Necessary travel documents
- Any required health documentation
Passport details may be required for:
- Visa applications
- Travel permits
- Hotel registration
- Government requirements
Personal information is handled according to the Adulis Travel Privacy Policy.
11. Travel Insurance
Adulis Travel strongly recommends that all customers obtain comprehensive travel insurance before departure.
Insurance should cover:
- Medical expenses
- Emergency evacuation
- Trip cancellation
- Travel interruption
- Lost or damaged baggage
- Personal liability
Adulis Travel does not currently provide travel insurance.
Customers travel at their own risk if they choose not to obtain appropriate insurance coverage.
12. Accommodation
Accommodation standards may vary depending on destination and local availability.
In some destinations, particularly remote areas, accommodation facilities may differ from international standards.
Adulis Travel will make reasonable efforts to provide accommodation as described in the tour program.
If circumstances require a change of accommodation, we will provide a suitable alternative where possible.
13. Transportation
Transportation arrangements are made based on the requirements of each tour.
Vehicles, routes, and schedules may change due to:
- Road conditions
- Weather
- Security considerations
- Government restrictions
- Local circumstances
Safety is our priority, and Adulis Travel reserves the right to modify transportation arrangements when necessary.
14. Tour Changes by Adulis Travel
Adulis Travel carefully plans all tours. However, we reserve the right to make reasonable changes when necessary.
Changes may occur due to:
- Weather conditions
- Transportation problems
- Government regulations
- Security concerns
- Local circumstances
- Force majeure events
We will inform customers of significant changes whenever reasonably possible.
15. Force Majeure
Adulis Travel shall not be responsible for delays, changes, cancellations, losses, or additional expenses caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
Such events may include:
- Natural disasters
- Political instability
- Government restrictions
- War or conflict
- Border closures
- Flight cancellations
- Strikes
- Epidemics or health emergencies
- Security situations
In such circumstances, Adulis Travel will make reasonable efforts to assist customers but cannot accept liability for circumstances beyond our control.
16. Cancellation by Customer and Refund Policy
All cancellations must be submitted in writing by the person who made the booking.
Cancellation charges apply as follows:
More than 30 days before departure
Refund may be provided, excluding any non-refundable costs already incurred.
15–30 days before departure
Partial refund may be provided depending on costs already committed.
8–14 days before departure
Up to 50% refund may be available depending on expenses already incurred.
7 days or less before departure
No refund will normally be provided.
Once a tour has started, no refund will be provided for unused services, missed activities, voluntary departure, or changes made by the traveler.
17. Medical Conditions and Special Requirements
Customers must inform Adulis Travel about any medical conditions, mobility requirements, dietary restrictions, or other special needs before travel.
Customers are responsible for ensuring that they are physically suitable for the selected tour.
Adulis Travel does not provide medical services and cannot guarantee emergency medical assistance in remote locations.
18. Accessibility and Disabilities
Adulis Travel welcomes travelers with different needs.
However, some destinations and activities may have limitations due to:
- Local infrastructure
- Transportation conditions
- Remote locations
- Accommodation facilities
Customers should contact us before booking to discuss accessibility requirements.
19. Photography and Marketing
During tours, photographs or videos may occasionally be taken for documentation or promotional purposes.
Customers who do not wish to appear in promotional material should inform Adulis Travel in writing.
We respect customer privacy requests.
20. Privacy and Personal Data
Adulis Travel collects and processes personal information required to provide travel services.
This may include:
- Booking information
- Passport information
- Visa documents
- Travel arrangements
- Contact details
Personal information is handled according to our Privacy Policy.
Adulis Travel does not sell or rent customer personal information to third parties.
21. Complaints
Adulis Travel aims to provide high-quality travel experiences.
If you experience any issue during your tour, please inform your guide or Adulis Travel representative as soon as possible so we have an opportunity to resolve the matter.
Complaints submitted after the tour should be made in writing within a reasonable period after completion.
22. Limitation of Liability
Adulis Travel acts with reasonable care in arranging travel services.
However, we are not responsible for:
- Actions of independent suppliers
- Airline changes or cancellations
- Government decisions
- Delays caused by external circumstances
- Loss caused by customer negligence
- Events outside our reasonable control
Our responsibility is limited to services directly arranged and provided by Adulis Travel.
23. Website Information
Adulis Travel makes reasonable efforts to ensure website information is accurate and updated.
However, travel information, prices, availability, and conditions may change without prior notice.
Customers should confirm final details before travel.
24. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws applicable in Eritrea.
Any dispute relating to these Terms or services provided by Adulis Travel shall be handled according to applicable Eritrean laws and procedures.
25. Changes to These Terms
Adulis Travel reserves the right to update or modify these Terms and Conditions when necessary.
The latest version will always be published on our website.
Customers are encouraged to review these Terms before booking.
