Adulis Travel is a licensed tour operator based in Asmara, and every tour on this page is run by our own team. We arrange the travel permits required for Keren, Massawa, the Dahlak Islands and the ancient sites, we file your Eritrea visa application with immigration in Asmara, and we travel with you from the Art Deco boulevards of the capital to the coral-stone old town of Massawa and the islands of the Red Sea.
Groups never exceed 12 guests, and every itinerary can also be booked as a private tour on your own dates. How large are the groups on your Eritrea tours?
Never more than 12 guests, and most departures run with four to eight. Every itinerary is also available as a private tour on your own dates, whether you travel alone, as a couple or as a family.
What is included in the tour price?
Prices are per person, land-only, in US dollars. As a rule they cover hotel accommodation with breakfast, airport transfers and all transport during the tour, an English-speaking guide, travel permit fees, local taxes and entrance fees. International flights, the entry visa, lunch and dinner and travel insurance are not included. The exact list is on each tour page.
Do I need a travel permit to leave Asmara?
Yes. Independent travel is only allowed in Asmara; Keren, Massawa, the Dahlak Islands and the archaeological sites require a permit from the Ministry of Tourism. We obtain the permits for every tour before you arrive, and the fee is included in the price.
How do I book, and when do I pay?
Send an enquiry from the tour page or contact us with your dates. We confirm availability, send a written offer and hold your place against a 5% deposit. The balance is paid before the tour begins. Once the booking is confirmed we also handle your visa authorization and advise on flight timing.
